At Dastkar Bazaar this weekend, I bought a shirt from Sangraha.
A beautiful piece of craftsmanship.
But what stayed with me wasn't the fabric.
It was a name.
The artisan's name, embroidered quietly into the garment.
I don't know why it moved me as much as it did.
Maybe because we spend so much of our lives creating things that eventually belong to someone else. Products. Presentations. Campaigns. Reports. Ideas.
The work travels.
The people behind it rarely do.
That tiny embroidered name changed how I looked at the shirt.
Suddenly, I wasn't holding a product.
I was holding someone's effort. Someone's expertise. Someone's time.
And it made me wonder:
How different would our organizations feel if we found more ways to make people visible in the things they create?
Not through annual awards.
Not through grand speeches.
Just through small, everyday acts of acknowledgment.
Because most people aren't looking for applause.
They're looking for evidence that what they do matters.
That's what I loved about this gesture.
A few stitches.
A name.
A quiet reminder that recognition isn't a program.
It's a practice.
And sometimes the smallest acts of seeing people are the ones they remember forever.
